Smalley is now the exclusive manufacturer of all Spirolox® part numbers.

Spirolox part numbers have now been replaced with the equivalent Smalley series. Please use this guide to determine what Smalley series to specify. Please contact Smalley engineering for assistance to ensure proper part identification.

SPIROLOX SPIRAL RETAINING RINGS
To simplify your Spiral Retaining Ring selection, you can search for your Spirolox part number to find a corresponding Smalley equivalent. Enter a Spirolox part number (Ex: RR-50) in the part search on the right, the equivalent Smalley part number WH-50 will be presented.

Internal Retaining Rings: 4 standard inch series of rings designed to fit common bore sizes. The UR series is the lightest duty series, and the RRN series if the heaviest. RR is the most commonly used series of retaining rings. The RRN series ring were designed to fit into the same groove as N5000 series rings.

External Retaining Rings: 4 standard inch series of rings designed to fit common shaft sizes. US is light duty and RSN is heavy duty. RSN rings were designed to fit into the same groove as 5100 series rings.

Metric Internal Retaining Rings: These three series are made to fit common metric bore sizes. ZRM is medium duty and ZRH is heavy duty.

Metric External Retaining Rings: These three series are made to fit common metric shaft sizes. ZSM is medium duty and ZSH is heavy duty.

SPIROLOX WAVE SPRINGS

TR Springs - Standard Single Turn: This space saving series can function as a spring member and take up axial play, all while maintaining a precise spring force. Designed to fit bore sizes ranging from .50" to 16.00". Standard materials are carbon steel and 17-7 stainless steel. Other materials are available.

TB Springs - Bearing Preload: Designed to lightly contact the housing, these springs eliminate diameter clearance within a bearing. This series was designed to correspond with popular metric bearing sizes. Size range from 16mm to 580mm bore diameter. Carbon, stainless, and other materials are available.

Peak-to-Peak Springs: These springs are lighter and offer a space savings over round wire coiled springs, with the same spring force. Sizes range from .625" bore diameter to 2.00" bore diameter. This series uses multiple turns to achieve varying working heights. A wide variety of materials are available. Standard materials are carbon steel and 17-7 stainless steel.
