Linear Exapanders
Linear expanders are a continuous wave formed wire length produce from spring tempered materials. They act as a load bearing device having approximately the same load/deflection characteristics as a wave spring.
Axial pressure is obtained by lying the expander flat in a straight line. Linear expanders are available cut to length or as a continuous coil, for the user to cut as needed.
Marcel Expanders
Expanders can also be formed in a circle. The expander will provide radial force or outward pressure.
These can be used behind seals to energize them when no pressure is available.
A Marcel expander can also be used for tolerance take up or to self center an assembly.
